The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood Warning for Sweetwater Creek in Lithia Springs and Austell, affecting Cobb and Douglas counties. Flood stage is 10 feet, and the forecast is for Sweetwater Creek to rise near 12.3 feet.
Douglas County Emergency Management, Sheriff’s Department, and Fire/EMS are monitoring the floodprone areas, and will block off entering roadways when appropriate.
Woodrow Wilson Park and Wren Circle Park are designed to be flooded. There are no permanent structures within these parks that will be negatively affected by this flood event.
